Watertown Plank Road Bridge


The Village of Elm Grove will be removing and reconstructing the downtown bridge over Underwood Creek on Watertown Plank Road during the summer of 2016. The existing bridge is currently failing and needs to be replaced. The project will consist of the removal of the existing bridge over Underwood Creek and the reconstruction of it.


The project is scheduled to begin June 2016. Refer to the updates for the most recent timeline of the project.

Detour Route

Watertown Plank Road will be closed to through traffic between Legion Drive and Elm Grove Road. Access to businesses in the closed area will be maintained during the construction project. Detour signs will be posted with the official detour route being Legion Drive, Juneau Boulevard and Elm Grove Road.

NOTE: There is NO TRUCKING allowed on Elm Grove Road between Juneau Blvd and Watertown Plank Road. Please plan ahead to prevent getting stuck in the downtown area. This is especially important if you are traveling east on Watertown Plank Road and your destination is west of Elm Grove Road.
