Forestry
Welcome to the Forestry Departments home page.
The Village-wide inventory tells us Elm Grove has a well maintained, young, urban forest with over 8,000 trees. The Department is here to maintain all of the Village's trees and answer home owner's questions about private and public trees. Use the drop down sections to discover answers on plant concerns from turf to trees. If the answer is not there, feel free to call or drop the department a note and we will address your plant needs.
For years, the Village has had the distinguished honor of being a part of the Tree City organization for the outstanding care of our urban forest. As of August 11, 2011, we are now officially a part of the
Bird City organization for which we have been recognized for enhancement of bird habitat and care. The
Birding information can be found under the Our Village Section through the
Wildlife Management drop down.
One of the best web sites for private forestry issues, from hiring an arborist to global forest concerns, is the
International Society of Arboriculture web site under the quick links.
