The Elm Grove Public Library located in the Village Park provides a wide
variety of materials, programs and services for the whole family. The large picture windows afford lovely views of the
park including strategically placed bird feeders to enhance the naturalistic
tranquil setting. Reading areas and tables are available for patron’s use
in this peaceful facility. Adult and children’s reading programs, Children’s
Story time (Spring and Fall), free Internet use and Book Discussion Groups
(sponsored by the Friends of the Elm Grove Library), are just a few of the
programs we encourage residents to participate in. A wide range of services
and a well maintained and updated supply of books, newspapers, magazines,
video and audiocassettes, along with the state of the art computer programs
for reference and public use, are available.

SPECIAL EVENTS AND PROGRAMS
Get a Clue @ Your Library
The Summer Reading Program begins June 11, 2007!
Sheets must be turned in by August 10.
If you need some extra motivation to spend time reading this
summer or would like to earn rewards for the reading you do, then sign up for
the summer reading program.
Who can participate? Children who are being read to
and kids who read for themselves, from toddler through 12 years. Older
siblings can read to younger siblings and both receive points!
What can you read? Any books or magazines that are
checked out from the Elm Grove Public Library.
How much do you have to read? As much as you
want! Fill out one reading sheet, or continue all summer for a maximum of
10 sheets. Each sheet requires a minimum of 45 minutes of reading plus
other activities.
How do you get reward? Small rewards will be given
for each sheet completed, plus each sheet turned in is entered into a grand
prize drawing at the end of the summer. The more you read, the better your
chances of being a grand prize winner!
Friday Morning Coffee Break
June 15 - August 17, 2007
10:30 - 11:00 a.m.
Stories, rhymes and projects for ages 2 1/2 to 5 years
old. Refreshments for children and adults.
Toddler Playgroup
June 14 - August 16 (no group July 5)
10:00 a.m.
Children up to age 2 1/2 can enjoy some special toys in the
playroom and interact with other toddlers and their caregivers. Must be
accompanied by an adult.
Tuesday Movie Matinees
June 19 - August 7 (no program July 3)
1:00 - 3:00 p.m., O'Neil Room
Movies that are mysterious or just make you wonder! List
of movies will be available in advance, or call the library for details.
We'll provide the popcorn!
It's a Mystery
Thursday, August 2
1:00 p.m.
Put together your own team of detectives and solve a mystery at
the library. Teams should be 2-3 people, ages 7 and up. Registration
begins June 11 and complete guidelines will be available at that time.

Attention Teens!
There are special activities for teens, ages 13-18, at the
library this summer. You can earn volunteer credit for your school or club
by helping out with the summer library program. Help us set up and clean
up for programs and supervise participants. Or, join the Adopt-A-Shelf
program and schedule volunteer time when it works best for you. Get
motivated to read by signing up for the YNK teen reading program. For
every 3 hours you read, you can enter to win one of the grand prizes. The
more you read, the better your chances of winning!
