The Elm Grove Public Library located in the Village Park provides a wide
variety of materials, programs and services for the whole family. The large picture windows afford lovely views of the
park including strategically placed bird feeders to enhance the naturalistic
tranquil setting. Reading areas and tables are available for patron’s use
in this peaceful facility. Adult and children’s reading programs, Children’s
Story time (Spring and Fall), free Internet use and Book Discussion Groups
(sponsored by the Friends of the Elm Grove Library), are just a few of the
programs we encourage residents to participate in. A wide range of services
and a well maintained and updated supply of books, newspapers, magazines,
video and audiocassettes, along with the state of the art computer programs
for reference and public use, are available.

Write with the Author
Join us for an evening with local
author Amy Lou Jenkins. Ms. Jenkins will lead a writing
workshop, do a short reading, and autograph copies of her newly published
book, Every Natural Fact.
Bring a pencil and paper and learn techniques to make your
writing richer.
Ms. Jenkins has taught writing at Carroll University and at
writing seminars and workshops. She's an active author and freelance
writer specializing in articles and essays related to the environment,
parenting and health. She holds an MFA in literature and writing from
Bennington College.

Kid's Choice Reading Program for Grades 4-6
Get started reading for the Waukesha County Kid's Choice
Award! The reading list is made up from books suggested by students in
grades 4-6 and books are available at the Elm Grove Library or at school
libraries*. Read at least five titles from the list and you will be
eligible to vote for your favorite in February!

be announced later).
*Participating schools include Tonawanda Elementary, St. Mary's
Visitation, and Pilgrim Park.

Attention Teens!
Teen Volunteer Opportunities (Ages 13-18)
Adopt-A-Shelf for Teens

If you enjoyed shelf-reading this summer,or want to try it
out for the first time, you'll have your chance in the months of September
- November.
-
Time commitment is flexible, but a minimum of 6 weeks is
recommended. Training is provided before you start.
-
You can choose a day and time each week that works best
for you (about 30 minutes to 1 hour per week).
Program Assistants
-
Help run special programs for kids, including setting up,
cleaning up and helping with crafts for December 10 family event.

Information sheets/applications will be available at the
Information Desk in the library beginning September 8th.
